Isle of Harris Artist Biography

David Fleet is an Isle of Harris artist whose landscape photography features in collections across the World.
His images can be seen in various galleries as well as in the national press and specialist photographic publications.
His work focusses on the extraordinary relationship between light and land and seeks to capture it in all its beauty through his understanding of composition, light and technique. As a photographic artist on the Isle of Harris David’s work is not simply about recording nature but attempts to convey an emotional response to a scene which he felt while there.

David’s interest in photography was discovered relatively late in life during a round the World trip taken after graduation from university where he studied law.
A series of shots taken with a small compact camera captivated his imagination and lead to an interest in what could be accomplished with study and practise.
Over the next few years he set on a path to learn everything he could about photographic technique in a quest to improve his own images. After much hard work and self study David took the leap to becoming a professional photographer in 2010 with a move to the Isle of Harris from the Midlands to enable him to immerse himself in the beautiful landscape and light of the Hebrides.
David’s eye for composition has translated into the ability to create unique and emotional landscapes that have been well received and lead to him becoming one of the pre eminant British landscape photographers today.
